Crew News
Well the Season of the Star has officially come to a closeā¦š© Itās always exciting when the Star is lit the Saturday before Thanksgiving, but alas, the time has come for the end of the National Western Stock Show and we must wait ten months until it is turned back on. Mark your calendars for its return on November 22nd!
Did you know these fun facts about the Star?
The tradition of lighting the star began in 1936, during the Great Depression, to boost morale and the local economy.
The 45-foot steel star was built by volunteers and sits at a height of 290 feet on the Castle Rock.
The star was temporarily a "V" for victory in August of 1945 to celebrate the end of World War II. It hadnāt been on for roughly four years due to electricity shortages during the War.
The star was lit for several weeks after the September 11th attacks.
The star has been lit for special occasions like the Broncosā Super Bowl victories (blue and orange bulbs).

Sports:
Broncos - wellā¦I shouldāve known better than to bet against our arch-nemeses, the Chiefsā¦again. They are on to their fifth Super Bowl Appearance in six years after beating the Bills 32-29. Theyāll face the Philadelphia Eagles, which will be a rematch you wonāt want to miss.
Nuggets - the Nugs continue to play well and have a record of 28-17 with wins over the 76ers and Kings and losses to the Timberwolves and Bulls. They are sitting at 4th in the Western Conference. Anyone see Jokicās historic game against the Kings where he sunk a 66-footer at the end of the 3rd quarterā¦? No wonder he lead the Western Conference in votes for the All Star Game.
Avalanche - the Avs still sit at 4th in the Central Conference with a record of 29-20-2 with a win over the Rangers and losses to the Jets (OT) and Bruins.
Australian Open - Against all odds, the USAās very own Madison Keys came out of nowhere to win the Australian Open. She had a very difficult draw where she had to beat four top ten seeds, a former top-3 player, and the No. 1 and 2 ranked players to finish it off. Congrats to her on her win in three sets over Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus. The menās side saw Jannik Sinner of Italy win over Alexander Zverev of Germany. Sinner is in the middle of a doping case so weāll see what his future holds from here on out shortly.
