Castle Rock Crew #026

Ecclesia Openings, Friday Night Markets, Tommy Bahama, and 4th of July

Thanks so much to everyone who took the time to fill out the survey. I really appreciate your feedback and support.

I didn’t get to everything I planned to this past weekend, but I was able to get out to the Friday Night Markets in Elizabeth which was a good time, and I ran into Hannah from Nothing Bundt Cakes in town - this was my first time meeting her, and she seems awesome and I look forward to featuring something on her soon! If you’re looking for some family fun and/or live music outdoors (and are okay with a ~30 minute drive depending on where you’re at), I’d recommend giving it a try. They’ll be around for seven more Fridays! I also was able to get out to VetFest on Saturday to see our community and more local vendors supporting our veterans. Douglas County Veterans Monument Foundation hosted this fantastic event, and if you haven’t been able to make it to one of the five they’ve put on, I’d recommend planning ahead next year or attending other upcoming events that support them!

Other Announcements:

Ecclesia wasn’t messing around and had four new businesses open up this past week. I haven’t gotten to them yet, but hope to later in July. Will report back then. Between coffee, bagels, barbeque, and tacos, there’s definitely a reason to stop by and try one of these out.

A new sports bar, grill, and game room was aiming to open up before the 4th, but I haven’t been able to confirm if its doors are open yet or not. Trifecta Sports Grill will be opening up near the Outlets. FB: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61575317401200#

Whiskey Fest is right around the corner and will be held at the Fairgrounds on July 19th. I’ll write up more on it, but as you can imagine there will be a ton of whiskey to choose from, along with food trucks and live music. There are reduced-price tickets for non-drinkers who still want to enjoy the day! Get your tickets here and use code July15 for $15 off.

Tommy Bahama is now open at the Outlets. - Suite 475 between TUMI and Sephora

On July 1st, 2025, The Castle Rock High Noon Rotary Club will merge with the Rotary Club of Castle Pines and form a new “Rotary Satellite Club of Castle Pines”. Full press release and list of officers at the end of this newsletter.

Fourth of July in Castle Rock
.

🎆 The Main Event

Castle Rock’s fireworks show is this Friday, July 4th — and you’ll want to plan ahead. The 15-minute show kicks off around 9:30pm from the former Acme Brick facility on Prairie Hawk Drive. You’ll hear a three-shot salute right before the first burst.

Best viewing spots:

  • Downtown Castle Rock

  • Metzler Ranch Community Park

  • Miller Activity Complex

  • Red Hawk neighborhood

  • Rock Park

đŸš« Heads up: Prairie Hawk Dr. (south of Topeka Way) will be closed, and parking is prohibited along major roads. Please be respectful of driveways and posted signs if viewing from a neighborhood or business lot.
đŸŒ© Weather backup: If needed, the show will be postponed to Saturday, July 5th.

đŸƒâ€â™‚ïž Start the Day at the ROCK-IT RUN

Kick off your 4th with the ROCK-IT RUN at the Douglas County Fairgrounds.

  • 📍 Fairgrounds

  • 🕕 Events start at 6:00am (5k at 8:00am)

  • đŸŽœ Includes a 5k, Half Marathon, free kids run, vendors, music, snacks & swag

Sports:

  • Nuggets - as you likely know, we had absolutely zero draft capital, but now that free agency has hit we’re making some big moves. Michael Porter Jr.’s time as a Nugget is over for the time being, as he was traded to Brooklyn for Cam Johnson. You never know if he’ll be back, since at the same exact time that was going down, we were acquiring free agent and fan favorite Bruce Brown Jr. for his second run with the Nugs.

  • Rockies - the Rockies are back to being the Rockies. They are sitting at 19-65 after dropping all but one game in the last week. Don’t worry, Dick Monfort’s son Walker is rising to the top of the organization and will surely orchestrate a turnaround

  • Avalanche - the Avs have been making moves extending (Malinski & Miner), trading (Coyle & Wood to the Blue Jackets for Brindley and picks), and drafting (Dell’elce, Funck, Roed).

  • Rapids - thankfully the Rapids were able to get the win over the LA Galaxy 2-0 in their match this past Wednesday. They drew against New England, a lower half team in the Eastern Conference, on Saturday. The Rapids are 8th in the Western Conference with a record of 7-8-5 with 26 points.
