Castle Rock Crew #031
Fine Art and Ferraris, A New Tea Spot, Back-to-School, and Kay-ke It Forward
I’m leaving the weekend truly inspired as expected — the muttin’ bustin’ did not disappoint with a young Maggie crushing the competition. Nothing could compare to that, but the rest of the rodeo was an absolute blast. Lookin’ forward to next year already!
On another note, a member of the community reached out to me to let me know about something very cool that Aleksandra Kay from Kaykery is doing. Every other month, she gifts a free cake to someone in our community who deserves to be celebrated — whether they’re going through a tough time, helping others, or just need a sweet surprise. You can learn more and nominate someone for Kay-ke It Forward here. Visit her website here or check out her Instagram here.
Lastly, Teaology is officially open downtown on Third St. — have not been by yet, but it’s on my list. Will hopefully get over there in the next week or two. They’re open Monday-Saturday from 7:00am-3:00pm and on Sundays from 8:00am-3:00pm. Let me know what you think if you beat me in there. Website here, Instagram here, and Facebook here.
This week in Castle Rock….

Sports
Broncos - Zach Allen got paid over the weekend — he just agreed to a four-year extension worth $102 million. Preseason is HERE — August 9th at the 49ers at 6:30pm!
Rockies - Rockies are 30-82 overall. They had a massive comeback win against the Pirates where they won 17-16 after being down 9-0 to start the game.
Rapids - the Rapids remain at 8-11-6 with 30 points, which is good for 9th in the Western Conference while they break for League Cup play. They had a 2-1 win over Santos Laguna on Thursday and a 2-1 loss to Club Tijuana on Sunday. They’ll face Cruz Azul this coming Thursday. Rapids will receive a record $8 million club transfer fee from Toronto FC for Mihailovic who has grown unhappy with the team. We did sign English defender Rob Holding to an 18-month contract through the 2026 season.
Summit - actually didn’t realize that The Colorado Summit were a professional ultimate frisbee team playing out of Golden — they transferred their name over to our new soccer team and are now looking to rebrand themselves. A Colorado Springs native, Ally Watt, becomes Denver Summit FC’s first player after being traded from the Orlando Pride.
