Castle Rock Crew #035
An Anniversary, Artfest, and a Busy September Ahead
I hope your Labor Day was labor-less…I was at my desk grinding away, putting this newsletter together for your enjoyment (hopefully), until I realized I had forgotten about my fantasy football draft (aka my annual donation to my friend’s child’s 529 plan). Can’t wait for another emotional rollercoaster of a football season.
It wasn’t all work and no play, though…my mom was gifted some handpicked Palisade Peaches by a friend and she made a Peach Cobbler with them, which I felt obligated to overindulge on…here’s a simple recipe if you’re looking for one.

🤤
Also, I believe King Soopers is still running this sale…consider it your deal of the week!
Business Spotlight
Mod Mountain Boutique: Celebrating Six Years in Downtown Castle Rock

Six years ago, we opened the doors to Mod Mountain Boutique with a simple dream: to bring style, comfort, and community to women right here in the heart of Castle Rock. As a family-owned boutique, our goal has always been more than just selling clothes—it’s about creating a place where women feel at home, whether they’re shopping for the perfect pair of jeans, a cozy sweater, or just stopping by to say hello.
Since day one, the support from this community has been the heartbeat of our business. We’ve watched moms and daughters shop together, helped women discover new confidence in their style, and shared in the laughter and stories of customers who have become like family. Those connections are what keep us going, and why reaching six years feels so special.
To celebrate this milestone, we’re inviting you to join us for our 6th Anniversary Celebration, September 5 – 7. It’s our way of saying thank you for being part of our journey and for supporting a local, family-owned business.
Here’s what you can expect during our celebration:
20% off storewide – A perfect time to refresh your wardrobe with fall favorites.
Over 40 new arrivals – Fresh styles just in for the season.
Giveaways, food, and drinks – Because what’s a celebration without a little extra fun?
The last six years of running a small business hasn’t always been easy, but it has always been worth it. Every purchase, every conversation, and every familiar face that walks through our doors reminds us why we started this journey. Shopping small truly makes a difference, and we’re so grateful to everyone who chooses to support not only our boutique, but the Castle Rock community as a whole.
So, mark your calendar and grab your girlfriends for a weekend of fashion, fun, and celebration. Whether you’ve been with us since the beginning or are just discovering our boutique, we can’t wait to celebrate with you and show you what’s new.
Here’s to six years of style, friendship, and community—and to many more ahead. See you September 5 – 7!
Can’t make it in person for the event?! Shop with us online during the event (no code required – discount applies automatically to the cart during event days). Free shipping on orders over $75 or free local delivery on all orders in Castle Rock & Castle Pines. Plus, easy returns within 30 days if something doesn’t work out.

Sports
Broncos - Pat Surtain got the nod at #10 on the NFL Top #100 players. 53 man roster is set — most notable news out of that is that Sam Ehlinger chose to be on our practice squad instead of on an active roster on a number of other teams…some were surprised by waiving Audric Estime who landed on the Eagles…anyways, we’re ready to start off the season against the Titans here at home. 2:05pm on Sunday.
Nuggets - we’ve got preseason coming at the beginning of October which is not that far away…check out the schedule here.
Rockies - back to doing what they do…2-8 in the last 10 and are now 39-99 overall.
Rapids - the Rapids struggles continue with a 4-2 loss to Sporting KC. They are now 10-13-6 with 36 points but remain in playoff contention at 8th in the Western conference.
Sabercat Football - the Sabercats fell to Mullen (30-13). They face off against Chaparral on Saturday, September 6th at 1:00pm away. Check out their schedule here.
Huskies Football - the Huskies steamrolled the Brighton Bulldogs (41-6). They’ll be hosting Smoky Hill on Friday, September 5th at 7:00pm. Check out their schedule here.
