There's a new hangout in Castle Rock, and it quietly opened a few weeks ago by the outlets.

Badger & Bloom Boba took over the space from Sharetea and completely renovated it. It was dark for a while, but what they built is worth the wait. Locally owned and operated, owner Olivia traveled to Taiwan to find the ingredients and products she wanted to serve. The pearls are cooked fresh every four hours. You can taste the difference.

The space has a great hang feel. Pink booths, pendant lights, plus a little kitchen corner for the kids. I really like the booth seating. It feels like you've got a little privacy (or a little intimacy). You can actually relax. Or maybe that's just me. Either way, the kind of place where an hour or two disappears fast, whether you're bringing the family, meeting up with friends, or even going on a date. Olivia mentioned a couple who came in for hours and stayed way past close. I guess they just couldn't stop staring into each other's eyes. Dreamy...jealous.

The menu has something for everyone. Non-caffeinated options for the afternoon crowd, caffeinated ones if you need a kick, and vanilla ice cream you can build on for the kids (and let's be honest, the adults too). The Vietnamese Coffee Float (cold brew, vanilla ice cream, and boba) is high on my return list. They’re also doing some twists with Poppi sparkling sodas that look like they’ll be fun to try.

Broncos — We're in draft mode with the NFL Draft two weeks out (Apr 24-26). Big news: Broncos owners Greg and Carrie Penner acquired a 40% stake in the Rockies, becoming the largest minority partners. No schedule until May.

Nuggets — We finished 54-28, 3rd in the West, and closed out the regular season on a 12-game win streak. We went 4-0 this week: beat the Trail Blazers (137-132), the Grizzlies (136-119), the Thunder (127-107), and won in San Antonio (128-118). Jokic became the first player in NBA history to lead the league in both rebounds and assists in the same season — 12.9 boards and 10.7 dimes per game. Playoffs start Sat, Apr 18 when we host Minnesota.

Avalanche — We're 53-16-11 (117 pts) and clinched the Presidents' Trophy for the best record in the NHL. We went 3-0-1 this week: beat St. Louis (3-1), beat Calgary (3-1), lost to Vegas in OT (3-2), then beat Edmonton in a shootout (2-1). Coach Bednar took a puck to the face Saturday and suffered facial fractures — he's out until playoffs. We head @ Calgary Tue, then host Seattle Thu.

Rockies — We're 6-10, 4th in the NL West. We went 2-4 this week: swept Houston at home (5-1, 9-1), then got swept in San Diego (7-3, 5-2, 9-5, 7-2). Kyle Freeland was scratched Sunday with a sore shoulder. We head @ Houston Tue-Thu, then come home to host the Dodgers Fri-Mon.

Rapids — No match last week. We're back Tue, Apr 14 vs Union Omaha in the US Open Cup at 7:30pm at home.

Summit FC — No match last week, and none this week. Next up is Sat, Apr 25 when we host San Diego Wave.

Mammoth — We clinched a home playoff game with a 13-11 win over Saskatchewan on Saturday. Twelve wins sets a new franchise record under Coach Coyle, and goalie Dillon Ward moved to #3 all-time in NLL saves. Jack Hannah hit 300 career points with a 9-point night. We close the regular season @ Calgary Sat, Apr 18, then host the Quarterfinals at Ball Arena.
