Well, it's Mother's Day this weekend and I hope you're doing something a little nicer for your mom than I am for mine…I'm gifting her the opportunity to pick me up from the airport. Sweet, right?
If you don’t want to risk being disowned, here's everything happening around town you can take her to.
Mother’s Day in Castle Rock
Friday, 5/8 — Get a head start
Goldie Links Weekend Kickoff — Downtown. The Abeille Book + Floral Truck rolls in at 10am, and the Colorado Coffee Bus is parked 10am–1pm. Easy day to swing by before Saturday gets busy.
Saturday, 5/9
Pop-Up: Blooms & Books at Alidade — 1–5pm. The Abeille Truck again, this time with a pint in hand. Best one-stop shop: bouquet, book, beer.
Goldie Links — Day 2 — Free bouquet bar at 10am (while supplies last), plus pop-ups from Simply Sourdough (10am–1pm) and Sadie's Cookie Co (11am–2pm). Coffee Bus is back.
Outlets Moms & Mimosas — 11am–2pm. $15 ticket gets you two mimosas, light brunch bites, a swag bag with a $10 Outlets gift card, store discounts, a build-your-own bouquet experience, and access to a private VIP suite. Proceeds benefit the Help & Hope Center of Castle Rock. 12+ only, tickets limited.
Teaology Mother's Day Brunch Buffet — Both days, 10am–3pm. $60 adults / $30 kids. Reservations required.
Sunday, 5/10 — The day itself
Bar Hummingbird Mother's Day — 90-minute seatings 11am–2:30pm at the Promenade. Moët mimosas, specialty cocktails, a flower cart, and a live DJ. 12+ only. Reserve on Resy. If you want to go big, champagne packages run $150–$390 — must be ordered ahead.
Already sold out (would have recommended): Cherokee Ranch & Castle's Mother's Day Brunch (Sat & Sun, $35–50) and Mother's Day Afternoon Tea (Sun, 2–4pm) are both fully booked. Worth knowing about for next year — they go fast.

Mod Mountain's got you covered. Mother's Day collection.
Cifredo
Get cleaned up before summer hits.
I got a cut from Cifredo last week because guess what…it’s wedding season. He made me look halfway respectable, which is more than I usually manage.
He's a traditionally trained barber at Carla's Barbershop in downtown Castle Rock. Straight-razor work, clean fades, and classic businessman cuts.
Get ready for graduations, weddings, and summer trips.
Pet Adoptions
Oh, Bella. This blue-merle Aussie Cattle Dog mix just landed at the Buddy Center last week — six years old and ready for her people.

Sports
Broncos — Two stories worth your time. First, Justin Simmons came back to retire as a Bronco — exactly ten years to the day after Denver drafted him. He spent eight seasons here, played 2024 in Atlanta, sat out 2025, and circled back to finish where he started. Ring of Fame conversation is already starting. Second, Garett Bolles got caught on TikTok changing a stranger's tire on the side of a busy road, walking a young guy through each step as he worked. The video was posted in Spanish — the caption translates to "He is an angel; God bless him." Players reported Monday for the offseason program, rookie minicamp runs Friday through Sunday, and the 2026 NFL schedule release is expected Wednesday, May 13.
Nuggets — Done. We dropped Game 6 in Minneapolis Thursday (110-98) and lost the series 4-2. Minnesota did it without Anthony Edwards (knee), Donte DiVincenzo, and Ayo Dosunmu — three rotation wings out. Jokic put up 28/9/10. Cam Johnson had 27. It wasn't enough. The story isn't talent — it's getting out-hustled by a short-handed team. What's next: Coach David Adelman is reportedly staying, Jokic is expected to sign a 4-year, ~$290M extension this summer, and the front office's top offseason priority is retaining restricted free agent Peyton Watson. Cam Johnson and Aaron Gordon are the names floating in trade conversations. The summer's going to be louder than the spring.
Avalanche — Round 2 is on, and Game 1 was a wild one. We outlasted Minnesota 9-6 Sunday at Ball Arena — only the fourth Game 1 in playoff history with both teams scoring 5+ through two periods. Cale Makar took a scary hit from Marcus Foligno in the first, came back in the second, and scored twice in the third to put it away. MacKinnon added an empty-netter. We host Game 2 Tuesday, head to Minnesota for Game 3 Saturday and Game 4 Monday.
Rockies — Tough 1-5 stretch. We dropped two of three in Cincinnati — lost the opener Tuesday (7-2), then Hunter Goodman hit two homers in a 13-2 blowout Wednesday, then dropped the finale Thursday (6-4). Came home and got swept by Atlanta — 8-6 Friday, 9-1 Saturday, 11-6 Sunday. Bright spot: Mickey Moniak homered twice Sunday to extend his hitting streak to 16 games. We host the Mets Tuesday and Wednesday, then head to Philadelphia Friday through Sunday.
Rapids — We're 9th in the West with 13 points. Mixed week: we advanced past the Colorado Springs Switchbacks 5-4 on penalties in the U.S. Open Cup Wednesday, then lost 1-0 at home to Houston Dynamo Saturday. We host St. Louis CITY SC Sat, May 9 at 7:30pm.
Summit FC — We're 13th in the NWSL with 6 points — first-year expansion team still finding their footing. Lost 3-2 @ Boston Legacy Sunday at Gillette Stadium, conceding two stoppage-time goals after Yazmeen Ryan and Natasha Flint had us up 2-1. We head @ Houston Dash Sat, May 9 at 6pm.
Noteworthy: A New Trail Will Connect Downtown to Miller Park
If you've ever wished you could walk or bike from downtown to Miller Park without crossing the Plum Creek Parkway and I-25 interchange — that's coming.
Town Council approved the next phase of design for the Industrial Tributary Trail on April 21 — a new east-west route connecting Downtown Castle Rock to the Castle Rock Sports Center and Miller Park through the Brickyard development. The trail is expected to open in 2027, timed with the Sports Center.
It's part of a bigger picture: the same April 21 meeting greenlit free rideshare via Link On Demand and reviewed the 2026 downtown parking study. Getting around Castle Rock is going to look pretty different over the next year or two.
